1. Template status
This document is a practical website-policy template for a street-food/food-service operator using an
Odoo-based online store. It should be customised to the actual business, state, premises, menu, payment
methods, delivery model and registrations.
2. Mandatory information
The store owner/operator must complete all blank legal-identification fields before publishing the
policies. The owner/operator is responsible for ensuring that registrations, licences, tax information and
public disclosures are current and accurate.
3. Food law
Food operations must comply with applicable requirements under the Food Safety and Standards Act,
rules and regulations, including licensing/registration and hygiene requirements applicable to the
business.
4. E-commerce and consumer law
Online sales must comply with applicable consumer-protection and e-commerce requirements. The
operator should ensure that prices, product information, order terms, grievance details and
cancellation/refund practices are presented clearly and lawfully.
5. Local permissions
Street-food operations may require municipal, street-vending, local health, fire, waste-management,
trade or premises-related permissions depending on the location and business model.
6. Tax and invoicing
The operator should obtain appropriate professional advice on GST registration, invoicing, tax collection,
accounting and any platform/payment-related tax obligations applicable to the actual business.
7. Odoo configuration
Odoo is a software platform; using Odoo does not itself make the store compliant with food, consumer,
tax, privacy or payment laws. The operator is responsible for configuring and using the platform lawfully.
8. Legal review
Before publishing, the operator may have these documents reviewed by a qualified Indian legal/tax
professional familiar with the operator’s state, business structure and food-service model.
